Painting is my true love in life and a joy to share with others! I especially enjoy painting portraits and capturing the eyes, which say just about everything about how we feel. This portrait is impressionistic-- not photo-like. Nevertheless, it will capture the essence of your loved one as demonstrated in the photos here. HOW TO COMMISSION A PAINTING

1.The purchase of this listing is for a custom portrait from your photographs. In your order notes, please include the e-mail that is the best way to reach you. My e-mail is Olivyea.art [!at] gmail.com

2. We will communicate by e-mail so that you can share your photos with me.

3. Before I begin painting, I will do a preliminary sketch (if needed) for you to review.

4. Now I paint! Please allow 6-12 weeks for the painting to be completed. This time allows for shipment of materials and drying time as well as the actual time to paint it. If you would like to receive your painting sooner, please let me know right away.

5. I will e-mail you a photo of the finished painting for final review. (I may also send update photos while I work if there are design choices to be made.)

6. Once approved, and drying time is complete, I will carefully package and ship your new treasure to you!

"Portrait of a Girl"
Oil on masonite panel

She's quiet, but has lots to say. She wants to be involved, but is content to watch from a distance-- she reminds me a lot of myself as a young girl. I relate to the moment she is in. Visually, I like the mood and lighting of this painting. It's on my wall now and at a distance (in my poor lighting) you see dark skin with soft light coming from above. But step a little closer in good lighting and her skin tone fills with reflected color and light-- it's quite a unique experience!
