Hey folks, this is an original made to your specification oil painting. I am a professional portrait painter, using a traditional oil painting technique called "alla prima" which captures the sense of spontaneity of the oil painting process.
There are many custom portrait painters on Etsy, most of them make a photocopy transfer of your photo and paint or color on top of that. This is a way of delivering a quickly made portrait that can be done cheaply, but is not the same as a portrait drawn and painted from a photo resource, which is a refined skill that takes decades to develop and is slow to produce the finished work.
That is why I cannot compete on price, but what you receive is a product that is produced the same way as portraits that you would find in a museum, and thus has a greater lasting value.
I can work from all manner of photography, including selfies and old family photos, but need the image to be at least well lit detailed enough to see small facial features.

It takes about a month between receiving reference photography to shipping the finished artwork. About a week of that time is to ensure that the painting is sufficiently dry for varnishing and shipping.
I am based in the United States, and work with clients all over the world. Some countries charge additional tariffs and taxes in customs. Please be aware of those additional costs when purchasing.
