F&S Gift Store Christmas Pre-Order Sale! Custom Portrait Oil Painting from Your Photo - Impressionist Impressionism
** I am currently accepting Pre-Orders for the Holiday Season. These orders will be delivered to you prior to December 15, 2018. I will complete these commissions in the order they are received. If you need your order sooner, please send me a message :)
Oil portrait / figure painting from your photo in impressionist style. The paint is applied in a thick impasto style, so there is a nice texture to the paint.
**Please allow at least 2 weeks for me to complete your painting. Oil paint is slow to dry and I want to make sure your painting is completely dry before I ship it. I will send you a photo as soon as it is complete! :)
I use Windsor & Newton Professional Oil Paints. The substrate is wood (hardboard) or canvas panel. This painting sells unframed, but will easily fit into standard matte and frame. When framing oil paintings, it is best not to cover the painting with glass.
SHIPPING: This painting will ship flat in an envelope or cardboard. The painting will be plastic wrapped for the best protection.
Please note that I do my best to represent colors accurately. All of my paintings are either scanned or photographed and then color-corrected. Different calibrations on your individual monitor may slightly impact the colors that you see. Please let me know if you have any questions.
Materials: Windsor & Newton Professional Oil Paint, Impasto medium, wood / hardboard or stretched canvas, gesso

Thanks so much for checking out my shop and for supporting independent artists & creators!A Note on Commissioned Artwork --
First, thank you so much for your interest in my art. As an artist, there is no greater joy than learning that my art is appealing to others. And when a person hires me to create commissioned artwork, I feel honored to be part of something special and meaningful. I enjoy doing commissions because they often challenge me and help me grow as an artist. I love sending progress photos to my clients and taking feedback because I think it makes the client part of the process. However, that can also present special challenges. If you hire me or any artist for a commission, please hire us for our own artistic style and keep an open mind.
When Hiring Me for an Art Commission --
- Please message me first with a description of your project, any relevant photos, and any special requests.
- I always have commission / custom listings available, however my availability may vary depending on other projects and workload.
- If one of my paintings inspired you to consider me, please let me know which painting it was so that I can get a sense of what you are looking for.
- I like to send progress photos of oil paintings, as that process often takes several days. For watercolors I usually do not send progress photos because watercolor isn't as amenable to taking breaks.
**ART COMMISSION POLICY**
If my artwork falls short in an objective manner (there is something fundamentally wrong with the painting due to the artist's error), I will either re-work the piece at my own expense or issue a full refund if I am unable to re-work the piece.
If my artwork does not match your stylistic taste or if there is a subjective difference beween the artist and client, I will only refund the shipping charge. Because I have already invested my time, materials, and money in the project, I cannot refund the piece. I hope you will understand that difficult situation. Ultimately, I really ask that you keep an open mind so that we can have a positive experience creating art together.
If there is an error or change in the art that is not due to the artist's error (for example, you changed your mind about some aspect of the painting) and the painting has to be completely re-worked I will discuss this with you and will likely need to ask that you pay for both the original and the reworked painting (I am glad to send you both paintings). Again, if I have invested my time, materials, and money in the painting but have to re-work it for no error of my own, I cannot absorb that loss.
Thank you so much for reading this and, again, thank you so much for your kind compliments on my artwork!
